Frogs are generally breed by laying eggs. The fanged frog species live in Sulawesi and zoologists have been hunted for decades because of this unique behavior.

For the first time an international team outlining these findings in a study published in the journal PLoS One.
Initially Dr. Jim McGuire of University of California, Berkeley thinks he is holding males when witnessing the birth of the tadpole. But it turns out it is the male frogs are pregnant and suddenly McGuire clutching newborn tadpoles.

Mystery mechanism

Almost all of the 6,000 species of frog in the world make the process of external fertilization, the female frogs lay eggs during mating, while males release sperm to fertilize it.

"But a lot of strange modifications in the marital standard of this frog," said Dr. McGuire.

"This new type of frog is only part 10 or 12 species that reproduce by internal fertilization. They are the only type of frog tadpoles who gave birth."

How the male frogs that successfully fertilize eggs in male frogs yanga remains a mystery. Because the frog does not have a conventional sexual organs to transfer sperm.
